Banned on every line

All 9 lines we cover ban coffee makers. Some name them, like Carnival, Celebrity and Disney. Others ban coffee machines with hot plates, like Norwegian, Princess and Holland America. Royal Caribbean, MSC and Virgin ban them under rules on heat or electrical items.

A single-serve pod machine is a coffee maker, so it falls under the same ban.

Electric kettles

Kettles are named on Royal Caribbean and MSC. Holland America says kettles and electric water heaters can't be used in your cabin. On the other lines, a kettle falls under the ban on heating elements. Carnival and Norwegian also ban immersion heaters and water heaters.

How to get hot water

Disney says room service will bring hot water to your stateroom any time. Holland America offers hot water through free 24-hour room service. On other lines, ask room service or check the buffet and coffee stations.

Warming bottles for a baby

Bottle warmers have their own rules. Disney bans bottle sterilizers and warmers, but Guest Services has a few approved units you can borrow. Royal Caribbean reviews bottle warmers and sanitizers case by case through its special needs team, so ask before you sail.
